Will it be a White Christmas?

The remaining snow from the last few days has now turned to ice, treacherously slippery but very beautiful for those who dare to venture out!
A cold but refreshing walk upon the South Downs this afternoon led us into a stunningly beautiful ice-bound world:

A winter Starling flock swirls above the fields, settling in the sun on the farm building roofs to our right.

The icy path to the top of the hill

A Giants' snowball?!

What a View! to the left...

...and to the right!

Tree O'clock

5th December 2009

Over 100 people gathered at Southwater Country Park, Horsham to join in the BBC's Nation-wide 'Tree O'clock' event. Many thanks to Sam Bailey and the other Wardens who organised the event at Southwater. The successful planting of over 1000 trees helped towards the aim of a new world record for the most trees planted in one hour.
